Hello! I’m Anne McLaughlin, owner of Blue Lake Design. I have been a graphic designer for over 20 years, working independently as a freelancer since 1999. I have worked with a wide variety of clients, mostly small businesses, such as book publishers and authors, tech companies, educators, musicians, transportation professionals, real estate agents, and nonprofit organizations. I have also collaborated with a technical writing agency on graphics for large energy companies.
Before branching out on my own, I worked at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, where I created a variety of pieces from exhibition graphics to brochures, to signage, invitations, and educational activity books. I worked with a great team in creating museum graphics for thousands of viewers.
I also bring an international perspective to my design, having lived and worked in France for five years. Being immersed in the culture, language and history of France brought a new dimension to my life that continues to help foster my creative abilities. (And of course, if you need a project translated for the French-speaking market, I’m the one to call!)
Design doesn’t happen in a bubble, however.
I often team up with other professionals to round out my offerings to my clients:
