The Design Process
At Blue Lake Design, your goals are our goals. So before we begin work, we make sure everyone is on the same page regarding the scope and goals of the project. We talk about the message to be communicated. The audience and demographics. Components (like photos, illustrations, animation, and more). Style, color and design requests or requirements. And of course, budget.
Once the bare bones of the project are laid out, we get started the old fashioned way: with hand drawn sketches. These eventually get refined on the computer, keeping in mind any pertinent production constraints (i.e. number of colors and size). We then present -- in either a printed format or digital "pdf" (portable document file), readable by any computer -- one or several ideas and continue to refine the design and content until the final design solution is reached. Throughout the process, we keep in close contact and communicate directly with you to ensure that things are running in as smooth and timely a fashion as possible.
